Thanks to its excellent mid-range power, the SLK 55 spends most of its life between 2000 to 4000 RPM. The original exhaust has a soft V8 rumble throughout, rising in volume to a very low level and always remaining 'luxury' quiet.
Our system rises in volume quickly to about 94 dB from which point the steady-throttle volume remains constant, but with a rising note. This level of sound is perfectly fine for constant steady speed cruising. It does not interfere with the enjoyment of the sound system or inhibits conversation.
This level of volume is well within the noise-requirements of just about all the toughest track-day regimes. Under hard acceleration, our system provides momentary volume up to a fairly rowdy 107 dB.
- Allows the perfect level of the exhaust sound.
- Civilised but provides powerful excitement when called upon.
- Based on the AMG system provided for the F1 Safety Car Exhaust.
